October Goals

Granted I’ve been meaning to make this post since, well, two weeks ago, I figured it’s better late than never, right? I’ve never made a goals post before, but I’m a huge fan of proactive living and after seeing a bunch of others… I felt inspired to finally make one myself.

Click the read more to see what my October goals are (it’s never too late to make them). Maybe they’ll inspire you to do the same!

1. Sleep More

This is probably the one thing I struggle most with. I’m an awful procrastinator and I prefer staying up late to waking up early. Four AM is when I come alive and I tend to do a bulk of my work after 11PM at night. Bad habits are always the hardest to kick though, so I’m trying to make this one really stick (I say as I write this at 12:50 AM).

2. Stop Spending So Much

While this may seem like a frivolous goal, I realize that I spend way too much and probably far too often. With the autumnal weather comes my trigger happy finger when I’m online shopping, or when I’m in Sephora browsing the aisles. I’m trying to save, save, save (especially if I plan on moving in with my boyfriend on the Cape in the summer months). I’m trying to make my form of therapy writing instead of shopping. It’s working wonders.

3. Get Out and Shoot

I’m a huge Gram-Girl… and by this, I mean that I like to have everything on my Instagram on fleek. I love photography and being able to go out and take pictures of beautiful things other than the products I’m reviewing. My hugest resolve is to get out on a slightly overcast day and shoot, shoot, shoot. I have tons of ideas for blog material as well as Instagram, and I know it’s something a lot of people will take to as well. I’m really trying to make this happen this month, without a doubt.

4. Reach 500 Twitter Followers

Seeing as I’ve had my Twitter for a total of three days and am now at 230 followers, I wouldn’t say it’s super far fetched to want to reach 500. I’m super proud I finally got over my hatred of Twitter and made one for the sake of the blog (checking off a task from my September checklist in the process), and it’s been great! Engagement and pageviews are both up. I’m just being greedy 🙂

5. Devote More Time to Pinterest & Facebook Groups

Again, I realize these are both promotional goals, but they have to be done. I’ve neglected Pinterest for far too long and I only just realized the traffic it can bring to the blog. Like me, my blog is growing one day at a time. It needs all the love and nurturing it can get hehe.

6. Run for 35 minutes

I used to be into running, then stopped running, and now I’m getting back into it. Not only does it burn fat like that, it also helps me relieve the anxiety and stress. Running makes me feel like the best person I can be, and I’m addicted to that feeling.

7. Finish the book I’m reading

It really is the small things in life. If I can finish this book, I will finally feel complete.

Anticlimactic? Maybe. Feasible? Definitely. Wish me luck, and drop a comment! Let me know what your October goals are/were too!

Aw thanks! Shoot for the moon and you’ll reach the stars right 🙂

I think I should follow #3 as well. I am first and foremost a photographer but I easily get sucked into the beauty blog world and shoot only makeup. 😀

It’s super easy to be content with just shooting products, especially if you love makeup and blogging, but I realize I need to get back to my roots and I hope that just going out and shooting will help with that 🙂

I wish you luck with reaching your goals 🙂 I have to ask, how did you get over your hatred for Twitter? It’s a struggle for me. Haha.

    Little Autumn

I just view it strictly as a marketing tool. When I start thinking about optimization, scheduling, and seeing my number of followers go up (as equated to pageviews on my blog), I start to get more into it because I see it from a business standpoint instead of a social media standpoint. I don’t tweet or use it more than necessary, but it works wonders popping in on chats from time to time and mass following other bloggers to see what the trends are, what the topic of conversation is, and how best to promote my own content. I hope that helped! 🙂

Thank you! Sleeping more is important but so hard to get sometimes when a busy life gets in the way. Best of luck to you in this month 🙂

I love this list of goals! I definitely need to do no.2 as well – I just can’t seem to stop myself sometimes!

I might have to start trying some written down goals for myself – it’s easy to forget when they’re in your head!

I definitely keep a running list on my phone of which goals I want to achieve next, it helps me organize my life a little more! Also making to do lists makes me so happy hehe
